Before Coach Kenny ever led the NCLL Razorbacks, there was The Storm.
That’s where Vanessa Santoleri’s journey began. She played for Coach Kenny during the early years when the foundation was being built long before trophies, titles, and accolades.
Vanessa played for Coach Kenny for about three years at New Castle Little League, and those seasons shaped far more than her softball skills. They built confidence, mindset, and a love for the game that carried her well beyond the field.
Today, Vanessa continues to give back to the sport that helped shape her.

“Coach Kenny taught me the importance of building family through the game,” Vanessa shared.
“When players feel supported, valued, and connected, they grow not just as athletes, but as people. When you’re part of something bigger than yourself, you play harder, trust more, and grow faster.”
It’s a lesson she carries into every practice, lesson, and team she is part of today.
Where the Love for the Game Began
For Vanessa, New Castle Little League was where softball truly clicked.
“This is where softball IQ is built. Little League fills the gap between talent and understanding of the game,” she said.
“It’s also where I truly fell in love with softball. It wasn’t about being the best. It was my outlet. I just got to play because I loved it.”
Advice for the Next Generation
Vanessa’s message for young players is simple but powerful.
“Keep believing in yourself. Keep learning. The game evolves and so do you. Be coachable and never stop shooting for the stars.”

“Every game started with Dreams and Nightmares and one of Coach Kenny’s pregame speeches. I was 14 years old feeling like I was about to play the biggest game of my life.”
