Coach Spotlight: Caitlyn Rabe

New to New Castle Little League, Coach Caitlyn Rabe is already making an impact in her first season as head coach of the River Dogs Tee-Ball team.

With a love for the game and a desire to give back, she is helping introduce the youngest players to baseball while building skills, confidence, and teamwork.

What Inspired Her to Coach

Coach Caitlyn says she would not be the person she is today without the sport and the coaches and mentors who guided her along the way.

Now, she is excited to give back to the game that gave her so much and help inspire a new generation of players to love the game as much as she does.

Playing Background

Caitlyn grew up playing in MOT Little League before continuing her softball career at Middletown High School and then at the Division I level at Drexel University.

She played pitcher, first base, and third base, bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge to her coaching.

What Excites Her Most This Season

Coach Caitlyn is most excited to watch her players grow each week and, most importantly, have fun while doing it.

Tee-Ball is about learning fundamentals and enjoying the game, and she wants every player to leave the field feeling proud.

Life Lessons She Teaches

Her guiding principle for young athletes is simple:

Never give up.

As Jimmy Dugan said, “The hard is what makes it great.” Coach Caitlyn encourages players to embrace challenges, celebrate successes, and keep trying even when things get tough.

Building Confidence While Keeping It Fun

While fundamentals matter, Coach Caitlyn knows that team chemistry and camaraderie are just as important.

She incorporates fun team-building drills and games into practices to help players bond, learn together, and enjoy the game every step of the way.

Favorite Post-Game Snack

For Coach Caitlyn, there is only one correct answer: ice cream. A sweet treat is always a great way to celebrate a game well played.

Looking Forward to Spring

This season, Coach Caitlyn is excited to coach the River Dogs and watch her players’ hard work pay off.

On a personal note, she is also excited to watch her own kids, a Tee-Baller and a Wee-Baller, experience their first season at NCLL.
