Volunteer & Work Bond
New Castle Little League is a volunteer-driven organization. Volunteers help ensure that games, practices, and events run smoothly while keeping registration costs affordable for families. Each family plays an important role in supporting the league and helping create a positive experience for all players.
Volunteer Bond
Volunteer Bond Details
- $150 Volunteer Bond required per family.
- Bond must be submitted by cash or check.
- Cash bonds will be securely held and returned once volunteer requirements are completed.
- Checks will NOT be cashed unless volunteer hours are not fulfilled by the end of the season.

Volunteer Requirement
- Each family must complete 6 volunteer hours per season.
- Volunteer opportunities will be offered throughout the season.
Volunteering helps keep league operations running smoothly and supports a positive experience for players and families.
How Families Complete Hours
Ways to Complete Your Volunteer Hours
- Sign up for a volunteer shift when opportunities are announced
- Work a scheduled concession stand shift
- Help with field maintenance or clean-up days
- Assist during league events or tournaments
- Support registration or other league operations
Volunteer opportunities will be shared throughout the season. Families can choose opportunities that fit their schedule.

Volunteer Training
Abuse Awareness Training
- Required annually for all Little League volunteers
- Helps create a safe environment for players
- Teaches how to recognize and report misconduct or abuse
- Provides guidance for protecting the safety and well-being of children

Diamond Leader Training
Little League Diamond Leader Program
- Encourages leadership, sportsmanship, and character development
- Promotes positive coaching and player support
- Helps volunteers build confidence while leading youth athletes
While designed for coaches and managers, all volunteers are encouraged to complete the program.

Volunteer Application & Background Checks
Volunteer Screening
- Some volunteer roles require completion of the Little League Volunteer Application
- Background checks may be conducted for volunteers working closely with players
- Safety training may be required for certain positions
These steps help ensure a safe and supportive environment for all participants.
Bond Return Policy
- All 6 volunteer hours must be completed for the bond to be returned.
- Partial completion does not result in partial refunds.
- If volunteer hours are not fulfilled, checks may be deposited and cash bonds retained by the league.
